Singing in the Rain!

Monday evening we decided to go get dinner as opposed to cooking. So out we trecked to a small mall that is maybe 1/4 mile from our house. We found our favorite style of restuarant - thai! We really do like the food, but it is also inexpensive. We had a great dinner, shopped for a backpack, and a little dessert at McDonalds. We got ready to head back when we realized it was pouring down rain outside. This should not have been a surprise as it is the rainy season and less than a week before the oldest 4 and a family friend (sorry Case) were caught out in a downpour. True to our family motto, which is not the boyscout motto, we had no umbrella. Yes, we could have possibly gotten a taxi, but that is another discussion involving one-way streets that are great for going places, but not so great for coming home. So, we decided to enjoy the walk. We were all soaked, and took a pictue as soon as we walked in. I had to try not to laugh at the vendors who tried to sell us umbrellas when we were over half-way home and already soaked.
Chuck put Zeke's glasses in his shorts pocket part way home, when we realized Zeke could see less with his glasses on than off. As soon as everyone had changed into dry clothes, I put everything in to wash. About 30 minutes later, after the boys were in bed, I asked Chuck where he had put Chuck's glasses. Oops! Because we have a front loading washer, the door was locked, so after a few tense moments, they were rescued - safe and sound.
Lord, always grant us the grace to sing in the rain!
